Deeside Clean Energy Plant
Europe's largest green biomethane facility, transforming feedstock into carbon-negative energy solutions.
Facility Overview
The Deeside Clean Energy Plant is Europe's largest green biomethane facility, representing a flagship project in TCED's portfolio of carbon-negative energy infrastructure. Located in Deeside, Wales, this state-of-the-art facility processes over 124,000 tonnes of organic feedstock annually, producing enough green gas to power the equivalent of 15,000 homes.
Our facility integrates advanced anaerobic digestion technology with carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) pathways, achieving net-negative carbon emissions with a lifecycle emission intensity of -48.03 gCO₂e/kWh. Every tonne of feedstock processed contributes to measurable environmental impact and supports our partners' ESG and decarbonisation goals.
Key Features:
- •Advanced anaerobic digestion with integrated carbon capture
- •124,000+ tonnes annual feedstock processing capacity
- •180+ GWh annual green gas production
- •16,000 tonnes biogenic CO₂ captured annually
- •High-quality organic fertiliser production
- •Carbon-negative lifecycle emission intensity (-48.03 gCO₂e/kWh)
