Carbon-Negative Impact & Sustainability
TCED Feedstock transforms feedstock into carbon-negative energy solutions, supporting ESG and decarbonisation goals through the circular economy.
The Circular Economy Model
Anaerobic digestion is a cornerstone of the circular economy, transforming feedstock into valuable resources. Unlike traditional waste disposal, TCED Feedstock positions feedstock as a strategic asset that delivers carbon-negative outcomes. Our facility processes organic material to create renewable energy, captured CO₂, nutrient-rich fertiliser, and other valuable products—completing the circular economy loop.
How It Works:
- 1.Feedstock is sourced through strategic partnerships with corporates and suppliers
- 2.Feedstock is processed in our carbon-negative anaerobic digestion facility
- 3.Biogas is generated and converted to renewable green gas (180+ GWh annually)
- 4.CO₂ is captured (16,000 tonnes annually) and organic fertiliser is produced
- 5.Resources return to the economy, achieving carbon-negative outcomes (-48.03 gCO₂e/kWh)
This closed-loop system ensures that waste becomes a resource, reducing the need for landfill disposal and creating sustainable value from materials that would otherwise be discarded.
Environmental Impact
Renewable Energy Generation
Our facility generates 180+ GWh of green gas annually from feedstock, powering the equivalent of 15,000+ homes. This renewable energy reduces reliance on fossil fuels and contributes to the UK's renewable energy targets while achieving carbon-negative outcomes.
Bio-fertiliser Production
The digestion process produces nutrient-rich bio-fertiliser that can be used in agriculture, replacing synthetic fertilisers and supporting sustainable farming practices.
CO₂ Management
We capture 16,000 tonnes of biogenic CO₂ annually, which is either utilised for industrial applications or permanently stored through geological storage. This carbon capture, combined with our -48.03 gCO₂e/kWh lifecycle emission intensity, ensures that every tonne of feedstock processed actively removes CO₂ from the atmosphere.
Landfill Diversion
By processing 124,000+ tonnes of feedstock annually through anaerobic digestion, we divert significant volumes from landfill, reducing methane emissions and extending landfill capacity. More importantly, we transform what would be waste into a strategic asset that delivers measurable ESG impact.
